So did you delete the nfig file for the version you are using or did you delete the BaseCamp.exe_Url_urbejbdz42c555ix3xqbitecusqt0tuj folder, or what? (That is the version I am currently using.) That brought up another file that wasn't getting deleted, so I deleted that and reinstalled the program and it works!!!!!!! It's counter productive to have to run two programs to do what Mapsource alone can accomplish. Since Basecamp won't load maps into gpsr's, I usually use Mapinstall for that purpose. Any way that we can collectively speak up on this to garmin? ![]() Seems that the programmers went with flashy presentation over usable features. I've not found a way to do this in basecamp. As the size of these grow I have taken to opting for download to computer, then send what parts I want. I have lifetime maps from garmin, both usa and europe. With Mapsource, it was a snap to do using the "map" tool. I frequently download and use 3rd party topo maps from While both Basecamp and Mapsource read and display these files, I have yet to figure out how to transfer selected pieces of these maps to my GPS using Basecamp. My biggest complaint with Basecamp is the cumbersome way it deals with transferring maps to GPS units. I tried much of what you did (all the above except Step 2) and got results similar to yours. The BaseCamp folder will be in c:\Program Files(x86)\Garmin\ or c:\Program Files\Garmin\.ģ)Download a fresh BaseCamp and let it install. The updated map did install because it shows up in Mapsource but I guess I may as well use my easier to see Android tablet with CoPilot instead of spending my last day messing about in Mapsource to finish my custom Nuvi route.įrom reports here and elsewhere, the fix for the recent BaseCamp issue is to:Ģ) Delete the BaseCamp program files (which somehow were not done during the uninstall).
